Do I have to add media to my profile? |
||||||||||||
|
Media is not compulsory You do not have to add
media to your profile, although we encourage you to do so to get the
most out of your membership. |
||||||||||||
| Will media make my profile more popular? | ||||||||||||
|
Absolutely. Media is one of the best ways to get
your profile viewed more often and to get you seen more often in
searches. As a result you will find that you get more mail from
other members, and so, yes - you will ultimately be more popular!
|
||||||||||||
| How many photos, videos and audio clips can I add? | ||||||||||||
|
Your personal media library is unlimited. You can
add as many images, video and sound clips as you like to your
profile. |
||||||||||||
| What is the difference between public and private media? | ||||||||||||
|
Your public media area is where you can upload or
create media that will be seen by members on the website as part of
your profile. Your private media folder is where you can add media
files that you want to send within mail as private media
attachments. These will only be seen by the recipient and are not
available to other members on the site. |
||||||||||||
| Can I move media between my public and private folders? | ||||||||||||
|
No. These folders are separate and you cannot
upload the same media to both folders. |
||||||||||||
| Who can see my media? | ||||||||||||
|
Classic members can see one media file from your
public media folder on your profile. This is your main image that
appears with your profile in the search results page. You can change
this option from within the media section, by selecting your
preferred image and confirming your selection by clicking the
button. Premium Members can see all of your public media. Your
private media can be seen only by the person you send it to IF they
are a premium member. |

| Do Premium Members see more media? | ||||||||||||
|
Yes. This is one of the many benefits of premium
membership. As a premium member you will have access to all public
media on members profiles. If a member has 50 photos, you will be
able to view them all. You will also be able to receive and view
unlimited private media mail attachments. Classic members will
receive this mails but will be unable to view this private media
until they upgrade. |
||||||||||||
| Do Premium Members have more media options? | ||||||||||||
|
Yes. Additional options as a premium member
include the option to reveal all of your public media to all
members. This gives you the ability to have all of your images,
video and audio clips viewed by all members regardless of membership
type across the site. |
||||||||||||
| How do I change my primary image for the search results page? | ||||||||||||
|
Within your public media page, you can select the
image which you wish to be your primary image. Your primary image
has to be a photograph - it cannot be a video or sound clip. |
||||||||||||
| Can I hide my media? | ||||||||||||
|
No, you cannot hide your media. Premium members
can hide their profile from the search results but you cannot hide
media alone. Your primary image is available to all members, and
additional media is only visible to premium members. As a premium
member, you can choose to reveal your media to all members,
regardless of member status. |
||||||||||||
| What is private media? | ||||||||||||
|

media files that you want to attach to mail messages. These files

viewed by the recipient of your private media mail. You can attach
and indeed add these files via your mailbox. |
||||||||||||
| Who can see my private media? | ||||||||||||
|
Private media can be seen by the receiver of your
message, and by you. |
||||||||||||
| Why can I not view the media attachment I was sent? | ||||||||||||

members to upgrade to premium membership in order to view private
media attachments. If you are being sent to the payment page then
you must upgrade in order to view your media message. |

operating instructions on these devices to install them
successfully. |
||||||||||||
| Why can't I see my media on my profile yet? | ||||||||||||
|
Once your media has been received by us it must
be approved before appearing on your profile. This can take several
hours, but more often will appear quicker. Your media will not be
visible on your profile until it has been approved by our

checked by staff, but may be reported by the recipient if it is
offensive. These files can be uploaded or created and sent instantly

| What are the technical requirements for viewing videos and sound clips? | ||||||||||||
|

or higher and a pair of headphones or speakers to see and hear the
videos successfully. If you are having difficulties if may be
necessary to re-install your windows media player. Please ensure you
attempt this solution before contacting us. Please be advised that
we cannot solve problems with individual machines. Whilst we can

||||||||||||
| How long can my video or audio clip be? | ||||||||||||
|
The maximum length of videos and audio clips
recorded via our technology is 1 minute. Uploaded videos may be
longer, these are dependent on overall file size. |
||||||||||||
| What are the guidelines for acceptable media? | ||||||||||||
|
Your media must be of you and it must not include
any minors. Your media is not allowed to contain any contact
information or show anything that is inappropriate for the site. It
cannot be of your possessions or pets. Our full guidelines are
available in our terms and conditions which you are strongly advised
to review before uploading any media. If you fail to meet our
guidelines your media will be rejected or deleted. |
||||||||||||
| Why was my media failed? | ||||||||||||
|
Because you do not comply with the guidelines or
you violated our terms and conditions. Please read our terms and
conditions on the help page and review the guidelines above before
submitting any more media. |
||||||||||||
| Why has the media not all loaded? | ||||||||||||
|
This problem will occur if you click on a link on
a page before it is fully loaded. For example, if you are conducting
a search, and you click on a member to view their profile before the
page has finished loading, the page will stop loading. This means
that when you return to the search results page after viewing the
profile, you will not be able to view all the media and you will
have to run the search again. This can occur on a number of pages,
the best way to avoid this is to wait until you can see the page in
full before you click on any links. |
||||||||||||
| What is the maximum file size for uploaded media? | ||||||||||||
|
The maximum file size for uploaded media is 5MB.
Please do not attempt to upload larger files than this. Whilst we
encourage good quality, large, high resolution images, files that
are unnecessarily large will simply slow the system and will take
too long to appear for members looking at your profile via a slower
connection. |
